POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities have released the names of the two men who died after being stabbed inside a Hudson Valley apartment.

City of Poughkeepsie police tell the Poughkeepsie Journal (https://bit.ly/1ricbD0 ) that 36-year-old Lamar Johnson of Beacon stabbed 33-year-old Landocalrissan Butler inside Butler’s second-floor apartment Saturday morning.

Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene while Butler later died at a hospital. Police say Johnson also stabbed a woman who was treated and released.

Detectives say autopsies conducted Monday found that Butler died from a stab wound to the heart inflicted by Johnson.

Johnson also suffered stab wounds but police say the cause of death for him is pending.

Police are still investigating what led to the violence.
