OPINION:
Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi joined Bishop Marc Andrus in washing the feet of two children in San Francisco on Good Friday, ostensibly a gesture to “honor the dignity and work of immigrants,” as she put it (“Nancy Pelosi washes immigrants’ feet in humble Holy Week act — then promotes on Twitter,” Web, April 18).
Mind you, this alleged “humble servant” and follower of Jesus Christ recently described the practice of killing unborn children through abortion as “sacred ground” and consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church she professes to love. What about honoring the dignity and precious value of human life, even the unborn?
Given Mrs. Pelosi’s disregard for the sanctity of human life, her foot-washing show should be seen as nothing but despicable blasphemy.
