JOLIET, Ill. (AP) - Police in the Chicago suburb of Joliet are searching for whoever shot and killed a 16-year-old while he walked to a friend’s house.
Authorities say Robert J. Garcia died at Silver Cross Hospital Monday afternoon.
Will County investigators say Garcia was shot multiple times while he walked to a driveway of a friend’s home. Sheriff’s officials say he was shot by a man wearing tape over his face and a hooded shirt.
Will County Sheriff’s Deputy Chief Ken Kaupas told The (Joliet) Herald-News that the shooter ran away and got into a white car. So far, no suspects have been identified.
