BALTIMORE (AP) - Baltimore Archbishop William E. Lori is traveling to Rome to see the canonizations of Pope John Paul II and Pope John XXIII.

The diocese says Lori and about 40 Baltimore-area Catholics will be among 4 million people expected to watch the ceremony Sunday at the Vatican.

Pope Francis will declare the late popes saints at a Mass in St. Peter’s Square.

In Baltimore, a Mass to mark the historic event will be conducted Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church in Fells Point. Auxiliary Bishop Mitchell Rozanski, who was appointed a bishop by Pope John Paul II in 2004, will celebrate the Mass.

Pope John Paul II visited Baltimore in 1995.
