CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Heavy snowfall this winter drew plenty of skiers, snowboarders and snowmobilers to northwestern Wyoming.
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort reported a 12 percent increase in visitors this season, breaking last year’s record and keeping restaurants and hotels busy.
The Casper Star-Tribune (https://bit.ly/QzX4cL ) reports that lodges and shops near Togwotee (TOH’-go-tee) Pass, one of the state’s top snowmobiling spots, saw a large number of visitors from the Midwest.
Sales taxes in Teton County are up $2.6 million in the first nine months of the fiscal year. That’s 8.4 percent higher than the same period last fiscal year.
Statewide, the snowpack fell slightly to 138 percent of average this week. Sweetwater is the lowest at 100 percent and the South Platte is the highest at 176 percent.
