CHICAGO (AP) - Gov. Pat Quinn has released 2013 income tax returns showing he earned roughly the same as previous years and donated a little more to charity than 2012.
The handwritten returns released Monday show he made a salary of $161,962 and a taxable refund of $1,508. In 2012, he earned $160,421 and a taxable refund of $1,203.
The Chicago Democrat paid $29,407 in federal income tax and $7,782 in state income tax. He paid $3,229 in property taxes on his Chicago home.
Quinn donated $9,485 to charity, up from the $7,535 the year before. However, in previous years he’s given thousands more.
He didn’t collect a paycheck for about five months last year as lawmakers debated a pension overhaul. After a plan was approved, he collected the checks totaling $70,000.
