WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - A Purdue University professor’s documentary film production on climate change is premiering the day after Earth Day.
Analytical and atmospheric chemistry professor Paul Shepson produced the documentary “Young Ice,” which will be shown Wednesday during an event celebrating Earth Week at Purdue. Earth Day is Tuesday.
The film focuses on the loss of Arctic ice that scientists believe is caused by global warming.
Shepson produced the film and traveled in an airplane-turned-flying laboratory around Alaska. He and a Purdue research team took samples for climate research around the sea and near a large oil drilling operation.
The 15-minute documentary will be shown for free along with a full-length feature called “Chasing Ice.”
