OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma History Center is opening a new exhibit featuring artifacts and memorabilia from a 100-year-old time capsule.
The Oklahoma Century Chest was buried on April 22, 1913, in Oklahoma City. It was opened 100 years later, on April 22, 2013.
The exhibit opens on Tuesday, and visitors will be able to see never-before-seen photographs, documents and American Indian artifacts. The exhibit also includes the First State Flag of Oklahoma and an 1889 poster promoting the first July 4 celebration in Oklahoma City, among other items.
The exhibit’s opening marks the 125th anniversary of the Oklahoma Land Run of 1889.
