BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - The National Endowment for the Arts has awarded nearly $854,000 to Indiana arts groups, with most of that money going to the Indiana Arts Commission.
The funding announced last week was among nearly $75 million in grants awarded to nonprofit arts groups nationwide. Indiana’s funding includes about $729,000 for the Indiana Arts Commission, a statewide arts advocacy group.
Cathedral Arts in Indianapolis received $10,000 for its International Violin Competition, while another $10,000 was awarded to the American Pianists Association.
That Indianapolis-based group will use the funding for its concerto curriculum arts education and community outreach program.
Indiana University in Bloomington received $20,000 to support an exit study of the school’s seniors that’s part of a study looking at the relationship between undergraduates’ arts or non-arts training and their workforce skills.
