JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - The Alaska Legislature has passed a bill that would designate the historic House of Wickersham as the official residence of the lieutenant governor.
The Senate added that language to HB246, which would add land to Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge in Fairbanks. The House agreed to the change Sunday.
The bill designates the home in downtown Juneau as living quarters for the lieutenant governor and a place for his or her official or ceremonial duties. The house would remain open to public tours and events.
