DARMSTADT, Ind. (AP) - Police say an 8-year-old boy driving an all-terrain vehicle was thrown off and injured after it was hit by a car near Evansville.

The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Department says the boy was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening facial injuries after the Sunday evening crash.

Police say a car hit the ATV as it was either entering or exiting a drive near the crest of a hill on a rural road a few miles north of Evansville. A 38-year-old woman who was also on the ATV also was taken to a hospital with what police said were non-life threatening injuries.
