LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Gov. Dave Heineman is seeking candidates for the newly expanded Natural Resources Commission.

Legislation signed by the governor aims to address water management, water quality and flood control issues and expands the Natural Resources Commission to 27 members from 16.

Applicants are being sought in several categories: agriculture, irrigation, manufacturing, outdoor recreation, public power district, public power and irrigation district, range livestock, wildlife conservation and a Lincoln resident interested in water issues.

Applicants must send resumes and completed application forms to Kathleen Dolezal in the Governor’s Office, P.O. Box 94848, Lincoln, NE 68509 or Kathleen.Dolezal@nebraska.gov. The application form can be completed on the governor’s website or requested by calling the governor’s office. Applications will be accepted through May 6.
