PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say the body of a 10-year-old girl has been recovered from a lake northeast of Phoenix.

Maricopa County sheriff’s officials told The Arizona Republic (https://bit.ly/1mq59vP ) that three cousins under the age of 15 were in Saguaro Lake on Saturday afternoon when the raft they were on flipped.

Sheriff’s Lt. Chad Brackman told the newspaper that divers found the girl’s body 30 to 50 yards from shore. He says the girls weren’t wearing life vests.

MCSO spokeswoman Lisa Allen says the girls were near Butcher Jones Beach when a passer-by noticed them in distress and helped the two survivors out of the water. She says the two appeared uninjured.

Authorities say the children were part of a Phoenix family spending Easter Sunday at the lake.
