DALLAS (AP) - A Dallas man has been arrested after police say he cut the neck of an acquaintance following an argument.

The Dallas Morning News reports (https://bit.ly/1iBFCz0 ) that 57-year-old Anderson Irby was arrested on aggravated assault charges. His bond was set at $50,000.

Irby is accused of arguing with a 32-year-old man, then pulling a knife and cutting the other man’s neck. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. Saturday in the Pleasant Grove section of southeast Dallas.

Police spokesman Lt. Max Geron said the victim was taken to Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas with critical injuries.

Irby also faces a charge of marijuana possession. Dallas County records indicate he faces previous charges of driving with a suspended license and failure to carry a license.
