ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - The Anne Arundel County school board is delaying its selection of a new schools superintendent.
The Capital (https://bit.ly/1hfeHEH ) reports the board previously scheduled its section for this week’s meeting on Wednesday. But Board of Education President Teresa Milio Birge says the board wasn’t able to get everything done in time.
A decision could come at the May 7 meeting. The board could also call a special meeting to make a selection.
Birge says there’s no trouble with the selection process. She says the board will announce a superintendent as soon as a contract is final.
Last month, the board released names of three finalists. George Arlotto and Maureen McMahon are already administrators in the school system. The third finalist is Francisco Duran, the superintendent of New Jersey’s Trenton Public Schools.
