INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Two Indianapolis fires have left one man dead and about 20 residents of an apartment building looking for new homes.
Indianapolis firefighters say a two-alarm blaze on the city’s west side left one man dead Sunday morning as the fire spread from one home to another, with 30 fire units responding.
The name of the victim was not immediately released.
Shortly that fire, a second fire appeared to have started in mulch outside a south side apartment building before traveling up a wall and into the attic. Firefighters say two residents who saw the fire alerted other residents to escape. Everyone got out safely but four apartments were damaged by fire and four others by smoke.
