GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Members of the academic, religious and social services communities are coming together to discuss the issue of homelessness in Greenville and what can be done about it.

Wednesday’s session is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Trone Student Center at Furman University. It is focused on developing plans to address the issue locally.

The session is being led by David Gandolfo, a professor at Furman’s Poverty Studies Department, and Michael Chesser, chief executive officer of Greenville’s United Housing Connections.

The session also includes members of the Greenville Area Interfaith Hospitality Network, an organization of some 40 faith communities working to assist homeless families.
