DENVER (AP) - A man who acknowledged stealing the luggage of 1970s rocker Peter Frampton at Denver International Airport has been given a 60-day suspended jail sentence followed by two years of probation.

The Denver Post reports (https://bit.ly/1r7oOAK ) 52-year-old John Allen Papelbon, of Thornton, was sentenced Friday and ordered to pay $8,884 in restitution. He pleaded guilty to theft of between $2,000 and $5,000, acknowledging he took seven pieces of luggage from DIA last year.

Authorities say airport surveillance video from Oct. 27 shows a man matching Papelbon’s description walking way with luggage.

Papelbon took Frampton’s luggage when the guitarist arrived in town to perform in Beaver Creek.
