BANGOR, Maine (AP) - Maine’s 48th annual Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race is underway.
The 16.5-mile event starts in Kenduskeag village and winds up in downtown Bangor.
This year’s race has been shortened because of high tides. Race organizers say the finish has been moved to the Flour Mill Portage takeout.
The Bangor Department of Parks and Recreation says high tide on Saturday will make some of the downtown bridges impassable during the race.
