SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) - A thin section of concrete that fell from the underside of an exit ramp is closing most parts of the Linden Street Garage in Scranton.
The Times-Tribune of Scranton reported Saturday (https://bit.ly/PfN6fz ) that only about 90 of the garage’s 777 spots are available after the damage that occurred either late Thursday or Friday.
The section of concrete is about 2 feet by 3 feet.
Linden Street is the Scranton Parking Authority’s largest garage.
It’s been examined for structural problems by two different companies in the past year, and a 2012 engineering study found it needed $2.3 million in work to bring it up to “good” condition.
