LEESBURG, Va. (AP) - Virginia State Police say a man is dead after a single-car crash in Loudoun County.

Troopers say it happened Saturday around 12:18 a.m. on Route 7, just beyond Yellow Schoolhouse Road.

Troopers say a pickup truck was traveling along Route 7 when the truck ran off the right side of the road and into a ditch and overturned.

The pickup truck’s driver, 45-year-old Eddie W. Todd, of Philomont, Va., was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected from the vehicle. He died at the scene.

State police say speed was a factor in the crash.

Todd was the only one in the pickup.
