PHOENIX (AP) - A suspect has been arrested in the shooting death of an off-duty security guard at a Phoenix bar last month.

Phoenix police announced Friday that 21-year-old Alex Ray Flores is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder, burglary, endangerment and misconduct involving weapons.

They say 33-year-old Jesus Rafael Lozano-Vidal died March 14 after being shot several times by a man after a closing-time altercation.

Lozano-Vidal was visiting the Mi Ranchito Dancing bar in central Phoenix where he works as a security guard.

After the bar closed at 2 a.m., police say Lozano-Vidal helped employees clear out the patrons when he noticed a man was trying to leave with a bottle of beer.

Lozano-Vidal told the man he couldn’t take the bottle and a fight ensued that led to the shooting.
