CHICAGO (AP) - The state of Illinois is investing more than $10 million for construction projects in Cook County.
Gov. Pat Quinn’s office announced Thursday the projects will be funded by the Illinois Jobs Now! construction program.
The projects that will receive the money are in Chicago, Alsip, Broadview, Countryside, Glenview, North Riverside, Oak Forest, Orland Park, Oak Lawn, Skokie and Tinley Park.
The most money will go to a $1.5 million project in Chicago to install heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems in state driver services facilities.
The other projects involve things like roadways, sidewalks, storm sewers, landscaping and traffic signals. Most of the projects will be managed by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
