WASHINGTON (AP) - South Dakota Republican Rep. Kristi Noem is headed to Asia with several other members of Congress.

She’s one of eight Republicans and one Democrat in a group led by House Majority Leader Eric Cantor of Virginia.

The 10-day trip starts Friday.

The representatives plan to meet with leaders in Japan, South Korea and China. Issues up for discussion include economic growth and trade, regional security challenges and strengthening alliances in the region.

Noem says the Asia-Pacific region includes vital markets for agriculture products from South Dakota and across the U.S.
