Remains found in Ohio River were man, 30 to 40

AVALON, Pa. (AP) - The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office says the partial skeletal remains found of a man along the bank of the Ohio River west of Pittsburgh are those of a man 30 to 40 years old.

But police and other investigators still haven’t identified the remains. That’s why their publicizing what little they already know about the remains.

County police are investigating.

The remains were found in Avalon, by a worker with the West View Water Authority, about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.

That rocky section of the riverbank is remote and can be reached only by crossing a double set of CSX freight railroad tracks.
