Red fox makes a home for himself at the White House: Report

Watch out, Bo and Sunny, there’s a new pet — well kind of — at the White House.

The Wall Street Journal reports that a little red fox turned up at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue shortly before the government shutdown in October and has settled in.

It’s proving to be an unruly guest, tearing through the garden, tripping alarms in the middle of the night and “general living the high life on a campus overseen by dozens of highly trained Secret Service agents.”

The fox is a conversation piece and somewhat of a myth around the White House, with even President Obama reportedly spotting the animal outside the Oval Office.

Personnel have tried to trap the fox, but to no avail.

“We don’t mind that he passes through, but we don’t want him to stay,” Dale Haney, the superintendent of the White House grounds, told the Journal. “No overnight guests.”
