Hillary Clinton’s upcoming memoir about her time as secretary of state now has a title — “Hard Choices.”
Publisher Simon & Schuster also released an image Friday depicting the book’s cover — a black-and-white portrait of the former first lady sporting business attire and a slight smile.
The book, which comes out June 10, is billed as Mrs. Clinton’s “inside account of the crises, choices, and challenges she faced during her four years as America’s 67th Secretary of State, and how those experiences drive her view of the future.”
The publisher cues up the action by noting Mrs. Clinton expected to serve out her term as a senator from New York after 2008 presidential campaign.
“To her surprise, her former rival for the Democratic Party nomination, newly elected President Barack Obama, asked her to serve in his administration as Secretary of State,” it says on a webpage devoted to the book. “This memoir is the story of the four extraordinary and historic years that followed, and the hard choices that she and her colleagues confronted.”
The book’s release and subsequent promotion is sure to stoke interest in whether Mrs. Clinton, the presumptive Democratic front-runner, plans to run for president in 2016.
Republicans already have begun to poke holes in her record, particularly by focusing on her response to the deadly 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya, while she led the State Department.
