BRISTOL, Pa. (AP) - Crews were searching the Delaware River in Bucks County for a boater who fell into the water.

Officials say the man was going over a wake in his motorboat that was caused by a tugboat when he apparently lost his balance and fell into the river Friday at Neshaminy State Park in Bristol.

Witnesses told police they do not believe the man was wearing a life jacket.

Bristol Township police Chief John Godzieba said the empty boat went in circles for about 20 minutes before running out of gas.

By 2:30 p.m. Friday, police were describing the search effort as a recovery mission.
