OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) - An Oshkosh pharmacy owner charged with selling muscle relaxants, pain relievers and other prescription drugs on the Internet has agreed to plead guilty in federal court to the charges.
Prosecutors say Charles G. Schultz signed a contract with a website that distributes the drugs nationwide to customers without prescriptions. Oshkosh Northwestern Media reported Wednesday (https://oshko.sh/Rrv640 ) that Schultz made more than $235,000 from the practice since 2006.
Court documents show Schultz has agreed to plead guilty to charges of distributing controlled substances and defrauding the government. A hearing on the deal is set for April 28.
The documents show Schultz agreed to pay $250,000 as part of the plea deal.
Drugs were sold through an online retailer called RX Limited, also known as AlphaNet-Trading. Court documents say Schultz received two payments from the site’s bank in Hong Kong, one in 2009 for more than $176,000 and another in 2011 for more than $60,000.
An undercover agent allegedly posed as a customer ordered prescription medication that was dispensed from Schultz’s two pharmacies six times between October 2007 and July 2010.
Schultz owned and operated Schultz Pharmacy in Oshkosh and Medicine Mart Pharmacy in Monroe.
