CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) - Oregon State University says Jane Lubchenco has returned to its faculty.

She’s a marine ecologist and environmental scientist who went from the university to head the federal agency known as NOAA - the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

After four years, she resigned in 2013, saying she planned to return to the West Coast and academic life.

The university said Thursday she would be an adviser to the university on marine studies issues.
