Conservative talking head Glenn Beck said he’s in the midst of reshaping The Studios at Las Colinas, a 72,000-square-foot Texas-based facility known as the shooting point for “JFK” and television series “Walker, Texas Ranger.”
“We’re getting it ready for some big plans,” he told the Hollywood Reporter. “I bought a movie studio for a reason. I have every intent of finding great artists who will tell great stories that aren’t typical. Everybody thinks they know who I am because of my stint on Fox — that was two years of my life. I’m much more into culture than I am into politics, and that’s where I intend on making my stand.”
Mr. Beck, who bought the property in June, said his goal is to bring to the big screen three different films — one with an ancient history setting, one of more modern history and the third a “faith-based” plot, according the Hollywood Reporter. And that’s just a drop in the bucket of his movie plans, he said.
Some of his other film notions could lead to video-on-demand adaptations, or television specials, including that of his 2008 best-selling story, “The Christmas Sweater,” he said.
“The meaning of ’The Christmas Sweater’ is that there are second chances,” he said. “It is based not only on my childhood, but a dream I had as an adult after I sobered up.”
