LOUISVILLE, Miss. (AP) - In an April 16 obituary on Juanita McCown Hight, The Associated Press erroneously reported that William Hight bought the Winston County Journal in 1943. The newspaper was owned by the Hight family, and William Hight became editor in 1943 when his father died.

LOUISVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Juanita McCown Hight, former editor the Winston County Journal in Louisville, Miss., died Wednesday. She was 100.
Her death was announced for the family by the Mississippi Press Association. The cause of her death was not released. A memorial service is 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church of Louisville.
Hight was born in Winston County in 1913. She was a 1934 graduate of the Mississippi University for Women. Hight began her career as a teacher. She married William H. Hight in 1940.
The Hight family owned the Winston County Journal, and William Hight became its editor when his father died in 1943. Juanita Hight worked on its staff and later was its editor. She was also active in the Mississippi Press Association until 1958 when the family sold the newspaper to Joe Cook. William Hight died in 1982.
