Got stress? A business owner in Boise, Idaho, has the solution, telling customers that they’re more than welcome to come in and start breaking stuff — a “recreational destruction” exercise for a modest fee.
It’s called Das Breakroom, aptly enough. Customers can pay a set price to smash dishes, vacuums, copiers and other office equipment, including computer monitors and faxes, United Press International reported.
“Here at Das Breakroom, our sole purpose is to provide a place for people to engage in recreational destruction,” Tom Farrenkopf told local KBO12. “What we mean by that is come in and break stuff.”
Customers on a tight budget can still find some affordable deals.
UPI said Das Breakroom offers $3 daily happy hour specials, as well as case-by-case consideration of costs for certain other items.
“I was having a horrible week, and I found myself on the verge of tears,” said one customer, Lindsey Shultz, in the UPI report. “I was just pacing back and forth, like, ’What am I going to do? I’m so frustrated right now,’ and I walked here and broke an entire box of stuff, and 10 minutes later, I felt perfect, fine.”
The business opened on April 15, just in time to capture the late tax filers.
