ATLANTA (AP) - Thieves stole a car — along with expensive equipment inside — from a car parked outside the Georgia Capitol that belongs to the clerk of the Georgia House of Representatives.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (https://bit.ly/19h2mCB) that Bill Reilly discovered broken glass and his 1993 Chevy Suburban missing from its spot at the curb of the Capitol on Monday.

Authorities believe someone smashed the window, hot-wired the car and vanished sometime between 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Monday. Reilly said Capitol Police have told him video cameras show two men breaking into the car and driving away.

Reilly had packed the vehicle for a family ski trip to Colorado, and the thieves made off with his son’s high-performance ski equipment, cameras, a GPS, tools and prescription sunglasses.
