FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - Authorities have seized nearly 600 pounds of marijuana during a raid of a Fort Wayne house.

Allen County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Jeremy Tinkel says officers from the county’s drug task force, along with state and local police and federal agents seized the marijuana Tuesday after surveillance of a delivery to the house on Fort Wayne’s north side.

Officers reported seizing 550 pounds of marijuana that had been delivered and 32 pounds already packaged for sale. Officials estimated the marijuana was worth about $580,000.

Tinkel says 49-year-old Luis Perez and 23-year-old Alvaro Rivera, both of Fort Wayne, were arrested and charged with dealing marijuana. Initial court hearings were scheduled for Wednesday. Court records didn’t list attorneys for them.

Tinkel says the case remains under investigation.
