Josh Romney took a quick potshot at Sen. Harry Reid this week with a Twitter post of his famous father, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, standing in line to pay his taxes.
The tweet included the text: “Hey @SenatorReid here’s a shot of @MittRomney paying taxes. Does it every year. It’s how you get your paycheck.”
The back story is that Mr. Reid insisted during the last presidential campaign that Mr. Romney was a tax dodger who sent his money to offshore accounts — even when that claim was proven untrue.
Mr. Reid’s exact words, as reported by The Hill: “The word is out that he hasn’t paid any taxes for 10 years. Let him prove that he has paid taxes, because he hasn’t.”
Mr. Romney ultimately released his 2011 tax returns, showing he did indeed pay taxes.
