MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Just when it seemed like spring was here, an April snowstorm has dumped more than a foot of snow on parts of Minnesota.
The National Weather Service reports nearly 15 inches of snow in Milaca, 14 inches in St. Francis and over 10 inches in Pine City.
Weather service meteorologist Lisa Schmit says the snow seemed to split Hennepin County, with the northern part getting almost a foot of snow and the south only a trace.
The heavy snow stretches in a band from central Minnesota into northwestern Wisconsin. The weather service reports 13.5 inches near Grantsburg, Wis., almost 11 inches in Spooner, Wis., and 10 inches near Hayward, Wis. It was still snowing Wednesday night.
The snow shouldn’t last long. Highs may hit 60 in southwestern Minnesota by Saturday.
