SEATTLE (AP) - A King County District Court judge has ordered a 53-year-old man held on $2 million bail in the slaying of the 72-year-old aunt with whom he lived in the Seattle suburb of Bellevue.

Mark Irwin was arrested for investigation of second-degree murder in the death of Barbara Irwin. Her body was found Sunday night in her apartment.

The Seattle Times reports (https://is.gd/EuwUv4 ) that court papers say relatives told police Mark Irwin had a history of drug abuse and stealing from the family. The newspaper says court records show Irwin has a criminal history that includes convictions for robbery, theft and taking motor vehicles.

Bellevue police say the woman’s body was discovered by a family member who grew concerned about her welfare.

Irwin was arrested Monday during a traffic stop.

It was not immediately clear Tuesday whether Mark Irwin is represented by a lawyer.
