OPINION:
Why is President Obama making such a big deal of Obamacare enrollment numbers? If you look at it realistically, the number is actually really low.
Mr. Obama and his cronies passed laws preventing people from purchasing any health insurance that does not fall within their guidelines (except for the people who received special dispensation from Mr. Obama). People need health insurance, but since they cannot get any health insurance other than what Mr. Obama has approved, they are purchasing “approved plans.”
It is like Mr. Obama closing down all the streets leading into Washington except Constitution Avenue and then celebrating when people use Constitution Avenue to get into the city.
Obamacare enrollment is no different. People are enrolling in Obama-approved health plans because they have no other choice. You pass a law forcing people to buy a plan they need but only in the form you approve, and then you act like it is some big deal when they buy that approved plan. What exactly is the big triumph Mr. Obama is touting?
