A Chicago man became so irate over a 22-cent tax he was being charged for his Diet Pepsi that he whipped out a submachine gun and pointed it at the store clerk.
He was arrested shortly after the incident, Mediaite reported.
Court documents show that Nahshon X. Shelton allegedly argued to the store clerk that since he lived in the neighborhood, he was “exempt” from the 22-cent tax on the $1.79 soda price tag, Mediaite reported. He left the store, but later returned, the Chicago Tribune said, citing court filings.
And when he returned, he opened a Gucci sachel and withdrew a loaded .22 caliber submachine gun, police reported.
He started waving it about, “while yelling that he was going to shoot and kill everyone in the store,” court records cited by Mediaite reported. He then reportedly yelled: “I’m going to shoot you in the head three times,” court records said.
