BOSTON (AP) - Two Boston-area brothers who each lost a right leg in the Boston Marathon bombings have retraced the marathon route on the anniversary in a relay walk-and-ride with relatives and friends.

Paul Norden and J.P. Norden crossed the marathon finish line in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood Tuesday evening, striding on their prosthetic legs.

Bystanders cheered as they had along the route from suburban Hopkinton. The trip began in the morning.

The Nordens are from Stoneham and are in their early 30s. They were injured as they watched the last year’s race with friends outside a restaurant where the second of two bombs detonated. The walk was also a fundraiser for their charity.

The bombings killed three people and injured more than 260 others.
