FREETOWN, Mass. (AP) - Massachusetts State Police say a woman has been killed in a crash in Freetown.

Troopers say the 32-year-old woman from Raynham was heading north on Route 24 on Monday afternoon when she lost control of her car and swerved off the roadway. She crashed into the back of a tractor trailer that was parked in the breakdown lane.

State police say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. They did not release her name. There were no passengers in her car.

Troopers say the driver of the tractor trailer was in the cab of the truck at the time of the crash. He was not injured.

State police say it’s unclear what caused the woman to veer off the roadway. They continue to investigate.
