NORCROSS, Ga. (AP) - Firefighters in metro Atlanta are trying to determine what caused a large fire to break out inside an apartment building where many residents had to be evacuated before dawn.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (https://bit.ly/1jE5nhO ) the fire early Monday damaged about half the 20 apartment units at The Reserve at Peachtree Corners. Gwinnett County fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge says police were evacuating residents door-to-door before firefighters arrived just after 3 a.m.

Rutledge says no injuries were reported from the blaze at the 30-year-old apartment building. He says several apartments were completely engulfed when the first firefighters reached the scene.
