WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - A former W. L. Gore & Associates chemical engineer has been ordered released on bond pending trial on charges of trying to steal trade secrets from the Newark-based company.

A judge on Monday said 48-year-old Kwang Seoung Jeon would be allowed stay at a friend’s home in New York while awaiting trial. Jeon will be subject to electronic monitoring and is prohibited from accessing the Internet.

Jeon, who worked on research and development of high-tech camouflage products at Gore, was arrested in Delaware two weeks ago as he prepared to travel to New York to board a flight to South Korea.

According to court documents, Jeon allegedly accessed, downloaded and printed scores of sensitive files before telling Gore officials last month that he was resigning and returning to South Korea.
