DENVER (AP) - Denver is showing its support for the Colorado Avalanche as they get ready for the playoffs.
Mayor Michael Hancock on Monday proclaimed this week “Burgundy and Blue Week” in Denver. The City and County Building and the D&F clock tower will both bit lit in the team’s colors in advance of Thursday’s opening game against the Minnesota Wild.
Passengers riding the train at Denver International Airport will also hear a greeting from team captain Gabriel Landeskog.
Gov. John Hickenlooper also issued a proclamation Monday declaring it the start of “Avs Playoff Fever.”
