SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities say a cabin fire in Sevierville has claimed the lives of an Indiana man and a toddler.
WBIR-TV (https://on.wbir.com/1p0CySi) reports 56-year-old Ricky Hudson of Indianapolis, Ind., and 5-year-old Tayveon Temple were part of a group of more than 20 people who were in the three-story cabin when the fire broke out around 4:30 a.m. Saturday.
Officials said Hudson, the toddler’s step grandfather, made it out of the cabin but suffered major lacerations due to breaking out glass. He later died at an area hospital.
Authorities say they haven’t found the toddler’s remains, but don’t believe he made it out of the cabin.
Officials say the group of family and friends were visiting from Indianapolis and Louisville, Ky. Many of them were treated for minor abrasions.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
