TREVILIANS, Va. (AP) - Authorities are investigating a small plane crash that injured two people in Louisa County.

Virginia State Police Sgt. Thomas J. Molnar tells media outlets that a possible cause was mechanical failure with the single-engine plane’s engine.

Molnar says the 1980 fixed-wing Cessna U206G crashed around 7:30 p.m. Friday in a field on Route 613 near Route 649.

The pilot and a passenger suffered minor injuries. They were taken to U.Va. Medical Center.

State police and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash.
