ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - Officials in Atlantic City want to replace the city’s road signs with a color-coded system they say will be less confusing for visitors.
The new program has been developed by the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority and will cost about $1.8 million, plus a yearly operating budget of about $21,000.
It’s slated to replace the current signage system that some find confusing because its colors are similar and its symbols seem mismatched to the areas they represent.
The new system will feature blue for the Marina district, pink for the Inlet district, orange for Midtown and green for Downbeach. Each will have its own symbol; for example, Midtown’s will be a silhouette of Boardwalk Hall.
