BURLNGTON, Vt. (AP) - The University of Vermont administration has proposed a 3.4 percent tuition increase for the next academic year.
A panel of the board of trustees is expected to review the recommendation on Monday.
The proposal would raise tuition for in-state students from $13,728 to $14,184. The Burlington Free Press reports (https://bfpne.ws/1esfreY ) that that would be accompanied by a 3.6 percent boost in the total financial aid expenditure, which would offset the rise in tuition for some students.
Tuition for out-of-state students would rise to $35,832, from $34,656.
The trustees already have approved a 3.6 percent increase in room and board fees.
The school increased tuition by 2.9 percent last year and 3.5 percent the year before.
The committee is expected to recommend a tuition increase to the full board in May.
