PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Track work will interrupt Amtrak’s Downeaster train service this weekend between Boston and Maine.

The Portland Press Herald (https://bit.ly/1kNS51J) reports that crews will be doing extensive track work between Boston and Haverhill, Mass. There will be no train service between Boston and Haverhill on Saturday or Sunday. Haverhill will be the last stop on southbound trains.

Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority will drop one-way fares for the weekend to $10 for adults and $5 for children between any station from Haverhill to Brunswick, Maine.

Buses may be available between Boston and some stations. A spokeswoman for the rail authority told the Press Herald that similar interruptions will occur on May 17 and 18.
